    Ingredients

    Amounts for
    • 2 ¼ tsp toasted sesame oil, divided
    • 240g green beans, trimmed and cut into 5cm pieces
    • 1 ¼ red peppers, thinly sliced
    • 1 ¼ onions, thinly sliced
    • 480g minced beef, lean
    • 3 ¼ cloves of garlic, minced
    • 2 ¾ tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 ¼ tsp honey
    • 4g fresh ginger, grated
    • ¾ tsp hot chilli sauce
    • 320g rice, to serve
    • 1 ¼ tsp sesame seeds, to garnish

    Method

    1. Rice takes longest, so start it first. Cook it as its packet says, then keep it warm.

    2. Put a large frying pan on the hob over a medium-high heat and let it get hot, then swirl in half the sesame oil to coat the base.

    3. Add the onion, red pepper and green beans and give them 7-8 minutes with a stir every so often, until the beans are only just tender. Set them aside on a plate, covered.

    4. Brown the beef mince in the same pan, back over a medium-high heat, for about 6 minutes. Use a spatula to break it up, stirring often.

    5. Stir in the garlic for 30 seconds, then pour away any excess fat.

    6. Add the hot chilli sauce, ginger, honey and soy sauce with the rest of the sesame oil, and stir it all together.

    7. Fold the vegetables back through and keep stirring until everything is hot through, 2-3 minutes.

    8. Spoon onto rice and scatter sesame seeds over the top.
